Description
As popular as an old John Wayne movie, Monument Valley is perhaps as iconic as “the Duke” himself. Many of his films had made use of this landscape to spin many heroic tropes that have since been committed to motion pictures. In many cultures, the presence of a rainbow is often considered to be a sign of good fortune. As luck would have it, a graceful one made an appearance on the very day that this photograph was taken, and the photographer was able to realign his tripod and camera settings and take a shot mere seconds before the rainbow faded into the sunset.
